New activities for 2016

For such a small village there’s quite a lot going on already with even more exciting activities planned for next year.  We wish them every success!

Torridon Yacht Charter

A new venture and sister company to local family business Torridon Sea Tours, TYC are offering bareboat charter on their first yacht in the fleet, a Hanse 385 called Sula.  Built in 2013 Sula can be chartered for up to 8 guests for sailors holding a RYA Day Skipper Practical qualification.  With pontoon access Shieldaig is an ideal starting point for sailing the NW coast and islands.  Available for weekly hire or shorter periods, Sula would be a great add-on to a stay at An Cos.

Shieldaig Activities

Loch Shieldaig is particularly popular for canoeing and kayaking so we are delighted the village will now have its own small activity provider. Shieldaig Outdoor Adventures has been set up by Tom Tindale to offer a wide range of activities for young and old as well as some equipment hire.  Tom has been living in the Torridon area for several years, is an experienced activity leader and passionate about sharing the joy of adventures in this special part of the world.

In spite of a pretty dismal summer throughout the UK, all our guests loved their time at An Cos and those who stayed in September and October enjoyed particularly beautiful weather, as we did when recently at the house.   Sharing our house with guests from around the world, introducing many to the area for the first time, we are appreciative of everyone’s kind comments in our Guest Book and are delighted that so many of you choose to return. Thank you!
“This is our second visit.  An Cos is still the best Scottish large house that we have stayed in (out of 20 large Scottish homes) and we will return again”.  David Pearson Sep. 2015
